About us

Bitcoin In Orphanages (BIO) is a humanitarian Bitcoin initiative connecting the Bitcoin community with orphanages, vulnerable children and communities facing real humanitarian needs. Through Bitcoin donations, education and documented field missions, BIO transforms Bitcoin into practical support for food, education, school supplies, healthcare, access to essential resources and community development.

We want to highlight the positive impact of Bitcoin beyond open-source projects, including in humanitarian services, and demonstrate what is possible with modern crypto technologies in community development, financial education, and digital opportunities.

Our work explores the use of Bitcoin beyond finance by bringing financial education, digital opportunities and humanitarian action closer to the communities that need them most. Every mission is intended to create tangible impact while documenting how the Bitcoin community can contribute to lasting humanitarian initiatives.
